Job summary

LCRA is seeking an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer to work on complex infrastructure projects that serve Texans. As part of the Structural and Civil Engineering Outsourced Projects team, you will supervise the execution of our portfolio of outsourced substation projects.

You will collaborate with engineering consultants to deliver safe, compliant designs that meet LCRA standards, and you’ll interact with various stakeholders across Electrical, Relaying, Construction, Real Estate, Legal,

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
• Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide feedback on the structural and civil designs for electrical substations ranging from 138kV to 765kV.
• Review consultant work product for safety, quality, and compliance to LCRA’s standards and engineering criteria.
• Collaborate with other parties such as LCRA Electrical, Relaying, Construction, Real Estate, Legal, and Developers/Customers to ensure efficient and effective substation designs.
• Represent LCRA SCE in meetings with project managers, developers, permitting authorities, suppliers, and construction contractors.
• Act as a SME for developing and improving LCRA’s standards and design criteria.

Are you an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer interested in working on complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects that directly serve and benefit the millions of Texans around you?

As an Engineer on the LCRA Structural and Civil Engineering Outsourced Projects team, you will supervise the execution of our team’s portfolio of outsourced electrical substation projects. You will work directly with LCRA’s engineering consultants to solve problems, deliver quality designs, and ensure LCRA’s standards, requirements, and interests are being served on every project.

How You’ll Contribute

• Work in a team to coordinate and provide feedback on the structural and civil designs for electrical substations ranging from 138kV to 765kV.
• Review consultant work product for safety, quality, and compliance to LCRA’s standards and engineering criteria.
• Collaborate with other parties such as LCRA Electrical, Relaying, Construction, Real Estate, Legal, and Developers/Customers to ensure efficient and effective substation designs.
• Represent LCRA SCE in meetings with project managers, developers, permitting authorities, suppliers, and construction contractors.

How You’re Qualified

• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
• Driver's license

How You’ll Stand Out

• Prior experience with permitting through Texas municipalities, TxDOT, TCEQ, or other authorities.
• Civil or structural design of electrical substations, industrial facilities (oil and gas, chemical plants, data centers, etc), or similar facilities.
• Previous experience with hydraulics and hydrology modeling for central Texas storm events.
• Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
