Job summary

FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company is seeking a Substation Electrician A to install, inspect, test, and repair energized and de-energized substation equipment. You will work under supervision in wiring checkout, switching, relays, PLCs, SCADA, and mobile substations, interpreting drawings, and documenting work performed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL Class A, and the ability to coordinate with Dispatchers for switching instructions.

Qualifications

• Must have attended training school for Substation Electrician A and completed required examination.
• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid CDL Class A.
• Must promote and interact harmoniously with fellow employees and customers.
• Must be able to respond to planned overtime and call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, operate, inspect, test, maintain and repair substation equipment (energized and de-energized).
• Interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics; perform wiring checkout and testing.
• Assist in switching, grounding on high voltage equipment, and field testing with specialized equipment.
