Job summary

Oxford Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Estimator to support bidding and preconstruction activities for electrical projects, including substations. The role requires a strong estimating background and the ability to interpret drawings and technical documents.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of electrical construction estimating experience, be familiar with substation technologies, and proficient with McCormick estimating software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical construction estimating experience.
• Experience estimating both new construction and renovation projects.
• Familiarity with electrical substations and related technologies.
• Experience reading electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including new installations and renovations.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents.
• Develop material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Use McCormick electrical estimating software or a comparable platform.
• Evaluate project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Support bid preparation, proposal development, and estimate handoffs to project teams.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and historical cost information.
