Job summary

M&S Engineering, LLC seeks an Entry-level Substation Electrical Engineer at our Spring Branch, TX location to perform engineering and design duties applying engineering principles for substation design.

Duties include creating detailed drawings, coordinating with managers and clients, and managing scopes and budgets. Willingness to travel and gradual progression toward project engineer/manager roles is expected.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering (Power emphasis preferred).
• Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire (preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills.
• Proficiency using AutoCAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Detail engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual design through construction (4kV–345kV).
• Create/modify design documents and drawings including one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panels, and BOMs.
• Coordinate project activities with managers, clients, and team members.
• Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets and ensure timely delivery.
• Take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required.

Substation Electrical Engineer (Entry-level)

M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified Substation Electrical Engineer at our Spring Branch, Texas location to perform engineering and design duties which require application of engineering principles and knowledge of substation design.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Detail engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual design through construction from 4kV to 345kV.
• Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel arrangements, specifications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and generating bills of material
• Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed
• Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and insure that schedules and budgets are met
• Take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required

Requirements

• 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering (emphasis in Power is preferred)
• Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire (preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements
• Ability to travel
• Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product
• Proficiency using AutoCAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office Suite
• Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects
• Work independently or in a team environment
• Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
