Job summary

M&S Engineering, LLC in Spring Branch, Texas seeks an experienced Substation Electrical Engineer to perform engineering and design duties for projects from 4kV to 345kV. Detail design, document creation, and coordination with clients are core responsibilities.

Requires a 4-year Electrical Engineering degree and 5+ years of substation design experience. Texas PE or eligibility within 12 months is required; AutoCAD or MicroStation proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering (Power emphasis preferred).
• Minimum 5 years post-graduation substation design experience.
• TX PE License or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communications.

Responsibilities

• Detail design of substation projects from concept to construction (4kV–345kV).
• Create/modify design docs: one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay layouts, BOMs.
• Coordinate with manager, clients, and team on scopes and budgets.
• Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets and monitor progress.
• Potential to assume project engineer/manager role as needed.
