Job summary

ROI - Workforce as a Service (WaaS) in Houston is seeking a draftsman/substation drafter with 2–5 years of electrical substation experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, with knowledge of both as an advantage, is required.

The role focuses on producing electrical drawings, schematics, and interconnect diagrams, while ensuring quality and adherence to drafting standards. A collaborative, high-performance team environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a two-year drafting program.
• 2–5 years’ drafting/substation experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation; knowledge of both is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Produces mechanical drawings for construction: equipment layouts, section views, cable tray plans, switchgear layouts, installation details, grounding details, conduit details, foundation details, steel details.
• Produces section views, elevations, and details from plan drawings with limited guidance.
• Produces electrical schematic diagrams.
• Produces wiring and interconnect drawings from schematics with limited guidance.
• Controls quality and consistency of drafted documents.
• Understands common industry practices.
• Works effectively in a team environment.
