Job summary

ORBITAL Engineering Inc. seeks an Electrical Construction Coordinator for transmission and distribution projects in Eastern Pennsylvania. The role coordinates construction activities, ensures safety and environmental compliance, and interfaces with client project managers, engineers, and field crews.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or similar preferred.
• Experience in Commercial / Industrial T&D or experience in management preferred.
• May have background in structural, mechanical, or electrical construction/engineering but must be familiar with construction prints/drawings.
• OSHA 10 hour and MEA specific training is beneficial.
• Must exhibit strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Must be competent in basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe).
• Must be organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
• Must be able to work well in a group setting and manage simultaneous tasks.
• Must be willing to travel as needed. Travel and lodging costs are reimbursable.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to frequent construction sites.
• This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight on site to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Participate in pre-construction planning, reviews, and constructability checks; verify permits and site plans.
• During construction, ensure compliance with specs and coordinate with client PM and engineering; resolve RFIs.
• Identify field-purchased material needs; order materials and coordinate deliveries; track shortages.
• Prepare Daily Log Reports showing progress, deficiencies, safety incidents, and compliance.
• Maintain redline drawings, conduct weekly safety audits, communicate scope changes, verify utilities, and sign timesheets.
• Occasionally climb ladders and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
