Job summary

K&A Engineering in Cary, NC is looking for a Substation Designer with over 4 years of utility substation design experience. The ideal candidate will prepare physical layout drawings, electrical plans, and various substation drawings. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation is required, along with a preference for an Associate’s degree in engineering technology or drafting. The compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 per year, and benefits include medical insurance, 401K, and flexible PTO.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in utility substation design.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare physical layout drawings for substations and produce electrical plans and sections.
• Prepare bills of materials and review drawings and specifications.
• Prepare substation drawings including General Arrangement and Electrical Equipment Plans.
