Job summary

DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations in Lafayette, Louisiana, is seeking a Substation Designer to create substation field construction and manufacturing shop drawings using Autodesk Inventor. Interface with structural engineers and project managers.

Must read and interpret layout and detail drawings; able to handle high-volume work with minimal supervision; collaborative team player. On-site, regular full-time position within Crest Industries family.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling and AutoCAD/Inventor recommended.
• High voltage CAD drafting and/or steel detailing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and/or check general arrangement drawings.
• Create and/or check anchor bolt plans.
• Create and/or check foundation and grounding plans/details.
• Create and/or check lightning shielding plans.
• Create and/or check lighting plans.
• Create and/or check sag and tension charts/drawings.
• Create and/or check material lists.
• Assemble and/or check catalog cuts for construction manuals.
• Create and/or check tube cutting schedules.
• Create and/or check bolt counts.
• Create and/or check structural shop and erection drawings.
