Job summary

DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations is seeking a Substation Designer to develop and verify field construction and manufacturing shop drawings using Autodesk Inventor. The role interfaces with structural engineers and project managers to ensure accurate, build-ready designs.

You will read layouts and detailed drawings, work well in teams, and handle high-volume work with minimal supervision. ISO-9001:2015 and ISN certifications highlight the company's quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related accreditation.
• Equivalent combination of education/training/experience considered for BS requirement.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor preferred.
• High voltage CAD drafting or steel detailing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and/or check general arrangement drawings.
• Create and/or check anchor bolt plans and foundation details.
• Create and/or check grounding plans, lightning protection, and lighting layouts.
• Create and/or check sag and tension charts/drawings.
• Assemble and/or check material lists and catalog cuts for manuals.
• Prepare and verify tube cutting schedules and bolt counts.
• Produce structural shop and erection drawings (steel details).
