Job summary

DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations is seeking a Substation Designer to develop substation field and shop drawings using Autodesk Inventor. You will interface with structural engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet project needs.

The role requires the ability to read complex layouts, work well in teams, and manage a high volume of work with minimal supervision. Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or related area from an accredited college or university.
Experience or training in 3D modeling and/or AutoCAD will be considered in lieu of a BS degree.
Experience using AutoDesk Inventor preferred; high voltage CAD drafting/steel detailing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Create and/or check general arrangement drawings.
Create and/or check anchor bolt plans and foundation plans/details.
Create and/or check grounding, shielding, lighting and sag/tension plans.
Assemble and/or check material lists and catalog cuts for construction reference manuals.
Create tube cutting schedules and bolt counts; develop structural shop/erection drawings.
