Job summary

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, with GPA above 3.0 preferred, and a strong foundation in AC/DC fundamentals, three-phase power

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university, with a power background preferred
• GPA above 3.0 preferred
• AC/DC fundamentals
• three phase power systems
• per-unit mathematics and symmetrical components
• substation components and their functions
• design documents and drawings necessary to complete a project
• engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI
• Word processing, spreadsheet, and E-mail software

Responsibilities

• Create all design documents and drawings for a project, including wiring diagrams from schematics and bills of materials
• Apply field mark-ups of project as-built drawings with minimal supervision
• Assist with relay burden, lighting, load flow, and short circuit calculations
• Use engineering software for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and load flow & short circuit studies
• Review project schedules with the project engineer to keep projects on schedule
• Maintain effective communication and coordination with project engineers and client representatives
• Ensure quality and accuracy of work and flag potential issues
