Job summary

Power-System-Engineering,-Inc.- seeks a Substation Engineer to lead substation design projects in Arden Hills, MN on a hybrid schedule. The role offers growth in technical engineering, project management, and client collaboration with relocation assistance available.

The candidate will develop designs and diagrams, provide technical consulting, and manage projects from design through construction while coordinating with internal teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred or ability to obtain.
• 5+ years of experience in transmission, distribution, or substation engineering.
• Strong knowledge of substation design, protection & control systems.
• Proficiency with NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design projects from concept through construction, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Develop engineering designs and drawings (one-line/three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, AC/DC schematics).
• Provide technical consulting across substation design, system support, and utility operations.
• Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and contractors to ensure on-time project delivery.
• Conduct site visits for inspections, quality assurance, and commissioning support.
