Substation Design Engineer (USA)

We’re partnering with a leading infrastructure firm to find a skilled Substation Design Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a hybrid role. Office locations include:

Houston, TX | Atlanta, GA | Boise, ID | Columbus, OH | Denver, CO

Portland, OR | Orlando, FL | Scottsdale, AZ | Salt Lake City, UT

Overland Park, KS | Chattanooga, TN | Spokane, WA

You'll be part of a highly experienced team designing critical infrastructure for utility and energy projects across the U.S.

What You’ll Do:

• Design substation layouts, grounding systems, AC/DC auxiliary power, and protection/control schematics
• Draft drawings, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar tools
• Ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, and local codes
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and field teams to ensure design accuracy and quality
• Support engineering calculations and documentation through all project phases

What You’ll Bring:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
• 2+ years of experience in substation or power distribution design
• Skilled in AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar software
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills
