Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Lead Principal Engineer- Substation through WECTEC Staffing Services. This 1-year contract role focuses on planning, monitoring and managing internal substation projects from initiation through construction and commissioning.

You will coordinate with Early-Stage Project Manager and Development Group to define requirements, ensure ISO and IEEE/other standards, and drive design reviews, schedules and delivery across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Master of Science or MBA is helpful.
• 10+ years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is highly helpful.
• Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action. PMP and/or P.E. is helpful.
• Travel required within North America.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and complete large-scale or several medium, complex, or long-term projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
• Secure resources and use formal processes to manage budgets, risks, and changes.
• Conduct project meetings, track progress, and analyze results.
• Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.
• Provide technical oversight of external engineers to ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to secure site and necessary approvals.
