About the role

We are looking for a Substation Construction Manager on behalf of our client. This is a 1 year contract assignment (W-2). Department: Solar/BESS Substation. Location: Juno Beach, FL. Per diem at GSA rates.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize and enforce safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Experience with company procedures.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other team members to ensure project completion.
• Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audit construction quality, ensuring specifications.
• Communicate with team members, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the project.
• Keep detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections.
• Lead construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts.
• Have vast knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings.
• Experience with safety regulations and practices, including the ability to identify and address hazards.
• Resolve issues that may arise during construction, ensuring the project stays on track.
• Familiar with concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, GSU containment pits.
• Work with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders.
• Perform material procurement and material take-offs.
• Review project after completion and report successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.
• Work safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels.
• Use Word, Project, and potentially specialized software for substation construction.
• Turnover and support Commissioning efforts through energization.

Base salary range for this position, dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $70.00/hr to $75.00/hr.
