Job summary

CenterPoint Energy is seeking a Substation Construction Intern/Co-op in Houston to gain hands-on experience supporting the planning and execution of electric substation capital projects. You will work with construction professionals and learn project coordination, field construction, safety, scheduling, and closeout.

The role offers training, flexible scheduling, and exposure to cross-functional teams within a major utility.

Qualifications

• No professional experience required for internship readiness.
• Must possess a valid/current driver's license.
• Sophomore, junior or senior standing pursuing relevant degree.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Coordinators and Supervisors with substation construction projects.
• Assist with tracking project schedules, milestones, materials, and construction activities.
• Maintain project documentation, reports, drawings, and construction records.
• Participate in project meetings, field visits, and construction progress reviews.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Operations, contractors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
