Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking candidates for Substation Apprentice positions in a pool for future openings across multiple Mississippi locations. Roles span 1st to 4th year apprentices, focusing on high/low voltage work, safety, and fundamental substation tasks.

Candidates must show willingness to learn and operate in a transmission/distribution environment. Responsibilities include erection of structures, switching, oil and transformer work, and routine maintenance with supervision.

Qualifications

• Under close supervision, as an apprentice in training, must be willing to perform the less difficult tasks and assist others in high and low voltage work involved in substations and related equipment.
• Must be willing to operate in safety-focused environments and follow all safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the erection of steel structures, including foundations.
• Work on energized conductors, circuits and busses up to 500 volts.
• Install hardware, grounds, fittings, and conductors during construction.
• Perform transmission and distribution switching.
• Tie knots and splice rope.
• Assist qualified mechanic in routine inspection and maintenance.
• Assist in handling, moving and installation of equipment and machinery.
• Assist in testing and filtering oil and minor repairs to transformers and breakers.
• Prepare reports and records.
• Operate Company vehicles and equipment.
