Job summary

Entergy Louisiana, LLC is seeking a Substation Apprentice 1st Year - Substation Technician to join our Baton Rouge on-site team. This safety-sensitive role requires readiness for 24/7 callouts, CDL within 180 days, and the ability to operate lift trucks and climb structures.

The candidate will perform maintenance, perform substation switching, read schematics and manuals, and prepare regulatory reports. Residency within 45 miles of the service area HQ is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must obtain a valid CDL within 180 days.
• Must live within 45 miles of service area HQ.
• Must be willing for 24-hour callouts.
• Safety-sensitive position with drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Obtain Substation switchman certification.
• Read and follow technical manuals and drawings.
• Work with AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Operate hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance and restoration.
• Be available for 24-hour callouts and extended hours.
• Prepare reports and records in compliance.
