Job summary

Changing Lives at Home Mental Health, Inc. is seeking a part-time Addictions Counselor/ Substance Abuse Counselor to join a multidisciplinary team. This 1099 contractor role requires a minimum of 30 billable hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9am–5pm, in Baltimore, MD.

You will provide frontline care in IOP/OP/PHP, develop treatment plans, perform individual and group counseling, and coordinate aftercare and discharge planning in compliance with state and federal standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or behavior-related field is required.
• Must be ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD or licensed therapist in Maryland.
• Experience in substance use disorder treatment (2 years preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintains a caseload per COMAR regulations and Joint Commission standards.
• Conducts comprehensive psychosocial history and assessments.
• Prepares Comprehensive Treatment Plans with client participation.
• Performs individual and group counseling.
• Documents progress and interventions in client records.
• Develops aftercare plans and discharge summaries.
• Coordinates care with health, housing and community services.
• Counsels clients in crisis and arranges referrals when needed.
