Job summary

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation seeks Substance Use Disorder Counselors to deliver clinical services aligned with our Standards of Care. You will coordinate with the treatment team and provide clinical coaching to students and interns to develop competency and ethical practice.

Candidates may work as Counselor 1 or Counselor 2 with responsibilities including caseload management, team collaboration, supervision for clinical hours, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent – Bachelor’s Degree (MN Only).
• Active Substance Use Disorder certification or license in state you will be working (CA: LAADC, CADC, CATC, or SUDCC; FL: CAP or CAC; IL: CADC; MN: LADC; NY: CASAC, LMSW, or MHC-LP; OR: CADC; WA: SUDP or CDP; WI: CSAC).
• Proficiency with technology and computer skills to document in an electronic health record system, attend virtual meetings, and manage outlook emails and calendars.
• Minimum 2 years freedom from chemical dependency (CA Title 22, CA residential site only).
• Must be 18+ years of age (All sites except PLY) or 21+ year of age (PLY only).
• Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days (fully remote work employees exempt).
• Must satisfactorily pass a state/license specific background check (PLY, CC, MG, CHAS, HS, FL, NY).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services in coordination with the treatment team consistent with Standards of Care.
• Provide clinical coaching to students and interns to develop competency and ethical practice.
• Manage a caseload and engage in team collaboration; provide supervision for clinical hours and ongoing professional development.
