Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with CAC I/II or equivalent certification.
  • Three years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license and ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screenings, intakes, and orientations.
  • Provide and document individual and group education sessions.
  • Deliver case management and clinical documentation in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Utilize evidence-based approaches such as CBT and 12-Step facilitation in treatment.
  • Connect clients with community resources and ongoing supports.

We are seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor to provide high-quality counseling, education, and case management services for individuals working toward recovery. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Position Details

  • Status:Full-Time, Non-Exempt Schedule:Monday–Friday, plus on-call one week per monthand one Saturday per month Location:Cuthbert, GA 39840 Reports To:Program Director

What You’ll Do

  • Conducting screenings, intakes, and orientations
  • Providing and documenting individual and group education sessions
  • Delivering case management and clinical documentationin a timely and accurate manner
  • Participating in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Supporting individuals using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and 12-Step facilitation
  • Connecting clients with community resources and ongoing supports
  • Serving as a positive role modelfor recovery and healthy living

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC I or II)
  • OR a comparable combination of education, certification, training, and experience
  • Three (3) years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders
  • Specialized training in addiction services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of counseling theories, case management, and recovery-oriented practices
  • Proficiency with basic computer software and online applications
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license and ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements

Additional Requirements:

  • If in recovery, a minimum of two (2) years of continuous sobriety is required
