Job summary

Cedar Wellness Center in Tacoma, WA seeks a Substance Use Disorder Professional to support our clinic. The role provides compassionate, evidence-based care for patients with SUD, primary care, and mental health needs, and reports to the Clinical Director.

The ideal candidate uses Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, collaborates with clinicians, and helps with intake, scheduling, and follow-up, including aftercare planning.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in human services or related field or 90 quarter/60 semester credits.
• Must be registered or certified with Washington DOH.
• Prior counseling or addiction treatment training.
• Ability to follow Cedar Wellness Center policies.
• Willing to work early morning shifts (5:30 am start).
• Commitment to evidence-based practices for SUD treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group treatment for SUD patients and families.
• Disseminate information about addiction services to the community when allowed.
• Assist in intake, scheduling, and referrals for treatment.
• Maintain charts and documentation clearly and timely.
• Participate in supervision and team meetings.
• Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions and plan aftercare.
