Job summary

OSHR Temporary Solutions in Swannanoa, NC is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor (S) to provide paraprofessional casework support in a DPS treatment center. You will perform initial screenings, arrange referrals, and convey basic substance abuse information.

The role requires a CADC/LCAS-A or equivalent credentials, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work with clients with addiction, coordinating logistics, documentation, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Credentialed as CADC or LCAS-A or equivalent per NC board requirements.
• Temporary position; no leave/retirement benefits; HDHP health options for 30+ hrs/week.

Responsibilities

• Provide paraprofessional supportive casework services to clients and families.
• Conduct initial screenings and arrange logistics for referral services.
• Assist in providing basic substance abuse information services and apply intervention techniques.
• Responsible for setup, cleanliness and maintenance of food service and equipment areas.
• Load/unload facility supplies as needed; transport clients as required.
• Document all incidents and medical emergencies; complete shift reports; ensure security of buildings and grounds.
