Job summary

Acadia Healthcare’s Taylorsville Comprehensive Treatment Center in Utah seeks a Substance Use Counselor to support patients with opioid use disorder in an outpatient MAT program. You will provide individual and group counseling, develop treatment plans, and document care to promote recovery.

The role requires a BS/MS in a health services field and MAT experience. Monday–Friday, early morning hours, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, supervision, CEUs, EAP,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in social or health services field required, accredited.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings (outpatient, residential, or correctional).
• Familiarity with MAT (methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone).
• Documentation of clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress per guidelines.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI, relapse prevention; familiarity with state/federal standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling with compassion and quality care.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate, and document patient recovery.
• Prepare treatment plans and conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Coordinate referrals and aftercare as needed; crisis intervention when required.
• Maintain accurate documentation and act as liaison between referrals and patients.
