Job summary

Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center seeks a Counselor I to serve as the primary counselor, case manager, and group facilitator for patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The role emphasizes evidence-based practices and collaborative care within Pathways Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities include psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and leading psychoeducational groups, with supervision and adherence to Joint Commission and COMAR requirements.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree with coursework in behavioral health.
• One year of work experience in behavioral health care including individual and/or group counseling for individuals with substance use disorders.
• Current approval as an Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide biopsychosocial assessment and counseling for individuals and groups along with integrated case management.
• Coordinate treatment planning, discharge planning and linkage with appropriate level of care and community resources.
• Conduct individual counseling sessions and maintain therapeutic alliance with patients.
