Job summary

Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center is seeking a Counselor I to serve as the primary counselor, case manager, and group facilitator for patients with substance use and co‑occurring mental health disorders. The role emphasizes evidence-based practices and collaboration to foster patient success.

The position requires an AA/AS in behavioral health and at least one year of behavioral health care experience, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• AA/AS in behavioral health or equivalent coursework.
• One year experience in behavioral health care including individual/group counseling for substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide biopsychosocial assessment and integrated case management.
• Develop collaborative treatment planning and discharge planning with appropriate care levels.
• Conduct individual counseling sessions and establish therapeutic alliances.
• Facilitate psychoeducational/therapeutic groups as needed.
• Maintain chart documentation per Joint Commission and facility requirements.
