Job summary

Merakey’s Drug & Alcohol Program at the Wellness Village in Philadelphia, PA seeks a dedicated Counselor to deliver individual and group therapy to adults in treatment. This is a full‑time role (40 hours/week, Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM) in a collaborative clinical setting aimed at supporting recovery.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, coordinate care, and work within a multidisciplinary team to empower clients toward lasting positive change in their lives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, psychology, addictions studies, social work or related field with specialty or concentration in counseling
• At least one year experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
• Actively working towards credential through PCB and licensure/certification within 2-3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy services to adults receiving substance use treatment.
• Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, coordinate care, and support clients throughout recovery.
• Engage and motivate individuals across varying stages of change; maintain therapeutic rapport and professional boundaries.
• Ensure documentation meets program, county, state, and federal requirements.
• Collaborate with case managers and multidisciplinary team members to connect individuals with community resources.
• Monitor client records and comply with licensing and payer requirements.
