Job summary

Merakey in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a full-time, onsite Drug & Alcohol Counselor at our 4th Street location. You will join an interdisciplinary team delivering MAT/MMT-informed counseling and evidence-based care to individuals seeking recovery.

A strong focus on engagement across stages of change and therapeutic rapport is essential. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in a relevant field and active pursuit of PCB licensure/certification with a 2–3 year goal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, psychology, addictions studies, social work or related field with specialty or concentration in counseling.
• Actively working towards a credential through PCB (CAAC, CADC, CAADC, CCS) with licensure/certification within 2–3 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and individual therapy using strong clinical skills.
• Assess client needs and recommend services based on presentation and engagement.
• Educate, motivate, and re-engage individuals resistant to treatment.
• Manage an assigned caseload and maintain compliant clinical documentation.
• Demonstrate advanced counseling skills including active listening and motivational interviewing.
