Job summary

Merakey is seeking a dedicated Therapist to join our Drug & Alcohol Program at the Wellness Village in Philadelphia, PA 19136. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The role provides individual and group therapy to adults in substance use treatment within a multidisciplinary team. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, coordinate care, and support clients throughout their recovery journey.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, psychology, addictions studies, social work or related field with specialty or concentration in counseling.
  • Actively working towards a Professional License (i.e., LPC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist).
  • OR actively working towards a credential through PCB (i.e., CAAC, CADC, CAADC, CCS) and licensure/certification within 2–3 years.
  • Hires after 7/1/2021 must complete and maintain required license/certification within the specified timeline.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Services: Facilitate individual and group therapy; assess treatment needs and recommend appropriate levels of care; engage and motivate individuals across varying stages of change; provide outreach and re-engagement support for individuals who are disengaged from treatment; maintain therapeutic rapport while upholding professional boundaries; utilize strong counseling, communication, and evidence-based clinical intervention skills.
  • Caseload Management & Documentation: Manage an assigned caseload and monitor treatment progress, engagement, and recovery goals; maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation; ensure client records meet program, county, state, and federal requirements.
  • Case Management & Care Coordination: Collaborate with case managers and multidisciplinary team members to connect individuals with community resources and support services; provide case management assistance as needed to promote recovery and treatment success.
  • Program Compliance & Quality Assurance: Monitor client records, authorized service units, incident reporting, and non-billable activities; ensure compliance with Merakey, county, state, federal, licensing, and payer requirements; maintain client confidentiality and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Communication & Professional Development: Communicate effectively with supervisors, case managers, peer specialists, and other stakeholders regarding client needs and service coordination; participate in clinical supervision, required trainings, continuing education, and team meetings; maintain productivity standards and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Hires after 7/1/2021 - employees must complete and maintain certification and/or license required by regulations and offered by Merakey within the required timeline. Failure to successfully complete and maintain license and/or certification and associated continuing education requirements will prevent you from being able to fulfill this role.
