Job summary

Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Counselor I to serve as primary counselor, case manager, and group facilitator for patients with primary substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our treatment philosophy uses evidence-based practices and multiple recovery pathways.

We emphasize collaborative care, chart documentation, and adherence to Joint Commission/COMAR requirements.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree in behavioral health.
• One year of work experience in behavioral health with individual and/or group counseling.
• Current ADT approval from Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide biopsychosocial assessment and counseling to individuals and groups with integrated case management.
• Develop collaborative treatment plans, discharge planning, and link with appropriate resources.
• Lead individual counseling sessions and facilitate psychoeducational groups.
• Maintain chart documentation per Joint Commission, COMAR, and internal requirements.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and provide group coverage as needed.
