Maryville Integrated Care, in partnership with the NJDOC, is hiring a Substance Use Counselor for South Woods State Prison in Bridgeton, NJ. The role delivers SUD treatment services within a correctional setting and supports recovery, personal growth, and reintegration.

Responsibilities include assessing participants, designing recovery roadmaps, leading individual and group counseling, coordinating case management, and maintaining compliant documentation per DOC regulations.

Qualifications

• Current NJ certification as one of the listed licenses or actively pursuing certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing substance use counseling.
• Sobriety: if recovering, at least 2 years sobriety and must maintain sobriety throughout employment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
• Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.

Maryville Integrated Care, in partnership with the NJDOC, is hiring a Substance Use Counselor for South Woods State Prison in Bridgeton, NJ.

The Substance Use Counselor, balancing compliance with empathetic, therapeutic care, delivers life-changing clinical services to participants enrolled in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment programs within a correctional facility by promoting recovery, personal growth, and successful reintegration.

In this role, the Substance Use Counselor carries out the Mission of Maryville: helping individuals improve their health and wellness by providing high-quality integrated mental health, physical health, and substance use treatment, recovery support, and education.
