Job summary

Rincon Family Services is seeking a Substance Use Counselor in the Chicago Metropolitan Area. The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide counseling, case management, and integrated dual-diagnostic treatment, with emphasis on crisis management and medication oversight.

Responsibilities include developing treatment plans, providing ongoing therapy, conducting HIV counseling and testing, and coordinating with community agencies.

Qualifications

• Ability to tailor communication to client needs.
• Initiative and big-picture thinking.
• Strong assessment and treatment planning skills.
• Understanding of HIV, hepatitis, TB and other infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct service including initial and ongoing treatment planning and crisis intervention.
• Lead assigned group sessions weekly.
• Provide HIV counseling and testing as required.
• Monitor toxicology screens and coordinate with Medical Department.
• Offer on-call crisis services.
• Maintain client records in EMR per program standards.
