Job summary

BayMark Health Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor to support patients through medically assisted treatments and help develop coping strategies in an outpatient setting.

You will conduct individual and group sessions, evaluate progress with clinicians, and assist in creating treatment and aftercare plans while ensuring trauma-informed, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service field.
• Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor preferred; must pursue within two years.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Understanding of an EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and handling opioid addiction.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for crisis management and coping strategies.
• Evaluate progress and collaborate with doctors, nurses and counselors.
• Provide counseling services; coordinate all services during treatment.
• Facilitate treatment plans; review initial plan with each patient.
• Complete Bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Deliver trauma-informed counseling to all patients.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
