Alumni Ventures is seeking a Substance Use Counselor in North Fort Myers, Florida. You will lead dynamic group therapy sessions, contributing to a member-centered recovery environment where compassion and integrity are paramount.

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree along with behavioral health licensure. Experience in leading group therapy and a commitment to quality care are essential, along with the ability to work evenings as needed.

Substance Use Counselor

Overview

Responsibilities

• Lead 3–4 one-hour group therapy sessions per day using a structured, evidence-based curriculum.
• Facilitate group discussions using a “plug and play” approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework.
• Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.
• Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
• Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members.
• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

Qualifications

• Salary range: $50,000-$60,000/ year *Based on experience, and education
  Schedule:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Required licensure or certification*: Behavioral health licensure including but not limited to: LCSW, LPC, LMHC, MCAP, LMFT, CAP, with ability and willingness to obtain licensure reciprocity in other states
• Minimum two years of experience leading group therapy in a SUD setting.
• High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.
• Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
• Ability to work 2-3 evenings per week up to 9pm as needed.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal proficiency preferred)
• Experience working in multilingual or multicultural environments is a plus
• Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT
