Job summary

Groups Recover Together is seeking a Counselor to lead dynamic group therapy sessions and be a vital part of our member-centered care teams. You’ll work in a mission-driven environment where compassion, integrity, and human connection drive real transformation.

You will collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches; monitor member progress and document outcomes; and engage in local outreach to promote Groups’ mission, with some evenings until 9 pm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Required behavioral health licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMHC, MCAP, LMFT, CAP) with ability to obtain reciprocity in other states.
  • Minimum two years of experience leading group therapy in an SUD setting.
  • High comfort with technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products, mobile apps, etc.
  • Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
  • Preferred: bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal proficiency).

  • Facilitate group discussions using a 'plug and play' approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework.

  • Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members.
  • Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.
  • Ability to work 2–3 evenings per week up to 9 pm as needed.

Salary & Sign‑On Bonus

Salary Range: $57,625 – $68,761 (based on experience and education)

$4,000 Sign‑On Bonus for clinicians with professional fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities
  • Lead 3–4 one‑hour group therapy sessions per day using a structured, evidence‑based curriculum.
  • Facilitate group discussions using a “plug and play” approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework.

Qualifications
  • Salary range: $50,000–$60,000 per year (based on experience and education)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Required licensure or certification: behavioral health licensure including but not limited to LCSW, LPC, LMHC, MCAP, LMFT, CAP with ability and willingness to obtain licensure reciprocity in other states.
  • Minimum two years of experience leading group therapy in an SUD setting.
  • High comfort level with technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products, mobile apps, etc.
  • Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal proficiency preferred)
    • Experience working in multilingual or multicultural environments is a plus
  • Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication‑assisted treatment or MAT.
