GEO Reentry Services, LLC is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team in Harrisburg, PA. The role involves developing and delivering education programs on drug and alcohol issues, and conducting individual and group counseling within a correctional setting.

The candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED, with a Bachelor's degree or CADC preferred. PA training requirements must be met; strong teamwork and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree and/or CADC certification preferred in PA.
• Experience in a correctional setting is preferred.
• Must meet PA Code training requirements.
• Supervision will be provided according to PA Code rules.
• Familiarity with Twelve Step programs (AA/NA).
• Ability to work in a professional counseling setting with a team.
• Computer literacy expected.

Responsibilities

• Develops and conducts programs for education on drug and alcohol issues.
• Facilitates group counseling, didactic presentations, and individual sessions.
• Selects and recommends instructional materials for the program.
• Keeps up-to-date on developments in substance abuse treatment.
• Maintains professional relationships with substance abuse professionals and associations.
• Completes testing, assessments, and psychosocial histories for residents.
• Participates in related training and performs other duties as assigned.
