Job summary

Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring a Substance Abuse Counselor to assist patients recovering from opioid and other substance use disorders in an outpatient setting. You will conduct individual sessions, facilitate group counseling, and help patients with treatment plans and coping strategies.

The role requires maintaining caseloads, coordinating care with providers, and applying current knowledge of new developments in the field.

Qualifications

• Combination of one of the listed education/licensure paths is required.
• Active state licensure corresponding to degree is required.
• Experience in outpatient or behavioral health settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct individual sessions and facilitate group counseling.
• Develop comprehensive behavioral health assessments and treatment plans.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust service plans as needed.
• Coordinate care with recovery and community providers.
• Involve family and natural supports when appropriate.
