Job summary

New Season is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join our local Oregon team and help patients through individual, group, and family counseling. You will work with a collaborative treatment team, including medical and program directors, to identify clinical needs and implement care plans.

The role emphasizes intake processing, psychosocial assessment, and ongoing patient education while supporting recovery efforts and program integrity.

Qualifications

• Experience in the substance abuse field is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to complete intakes, admissions, and discharge paperwork with accuracy.
• Strong documentation and counseling skills for individual, group, and family sessions.

Responsibilities

• Work with patients to complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork.
• Document patient progress through counseling and interaction through groups.
• Complete patient psychosocial and individualized treatment plans within required time frames.
• Identify clinical/case management needs and address them.
• Perform individual, group, and family counseling as required.
• Provide at least 20 hours of direct one-on-one contact per week.
• Educate patients on treatment, health issues, and steps to recovery.
