Job summary

Advanced Recovery Systems, LLC is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor in Indianapolis to lead group therapy sessions, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate discharge planning.

The role requires establishing a safe, therapeutic environment, conducting comprehensive patient assessments, and contributing to ongoing quality improvement within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Behavioral Health preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum one year of experience in behavioral health preferred.
• State SUD certification required if education is equivalent to High School or Bachelor's level.
• CPR-AED and First Aid certification required.
• Demonstrates proficiency in communication and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide daily group therapy to assigned patients following program curriculum.
• Assist in ensuring group attendance/compliance with engaging content.
• Use therapeutic interventions and de-escalation techniques to help patients complete treatment plans.
• Assess patients for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Support aftercare planning with the multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement by documenting plans and outcomes.
