Job summary

TFI is a leading child welfare agency in Kansas seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to perform biopsychosocial assessments, coordinate treatment plans, and provide individual, family, and group counseling. A Kansas Substance Abuse certification is required, with eligibility for LAC/LMAC/LCAC supervision to bill services.

Must have a valid driver’s license and meet underwriting standards. The role supports care across the agency’s affiliates and requires collaboration with the supervisor and care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling/Psychology or behavioral science related field required with Kansas Substance Abuse certification.
• Must be credentialed to provide billable substance use services or seeking clinical supervision with a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), Licensed Master's Addictions Counselor (LMAC), or Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) to be eligible to provide billable services.
• Valid driver's license and meet agency underwriting standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform admission biopsychosocial assessment and obtain signatures for release of information.
• Oversee patient program orientation, treatment planning, and counseling (individual, family, and group).
• Provide patient education and coordinate care through internal and external continuum of care, discharges, and referrals.
• Complete 90 day reviews and maintain records per State standards and COA accreditation.
• Collaborate with Supervisor and team to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement intervention strategies and deliver therapy in-office and occasionally in client environments.
• Identify barriers to engagement and implement strategies to overcome them.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling/Psychology or behavioral science related field

Kansas Substance Abuse certification

Licensed Addictions Counselor supervision eligibility (LAC/LMAC/LCAC) for billable services
