Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC in California is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to develop and deliver education programs on substance use, and to conduct individual and group counseling using evidence‑based practices.

You will schedule intakes, track progress, and collaborate with case managers to determine appropriate treatment. A Certificate and bilingual ability may be advantageous, with a focus on integrity and client well‑being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 3 years of counseling with a criminal justice population.
• Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification by an approved agency preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities; bilingual skills may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and conducts education programs on drug and alcohol issues.
• Schedules and conducts individual and group counseling sessions.
• Maintains participant progress records in the firm database.
• Establishes relationships with outside referral sources for treatment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
