Job summary

Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians is seeking a Geography of subsistence hunting, fishing, and trapping program coordinator to manage the program in line with the MOA with Oregon. You will work with ODFW to establish cooperative management principles for fish and wildlife in CTCLUSI's five-county service area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a natural resources field (e.g., Wildlife Biology, Fisheries Science, Aquatic Science, or General Biology).
• Knowledge of Oregon hunting, fishing, and trapping laws and regulations.
• Minimum two years of professional front office or reception experience including scheduling and multi-line phone system.
• Knowledge of Pacific Northwest native fish and wildlife species life histories.
• First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire (or as soon as training available).
• CJIS Security certification eligibility.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Safety sensitive position with pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
• Indian preference will be observed in hiring.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Tribe’s Environmental Program as part of a team.
• Coordinate fish and wildlife habitat and population surveys as needed.
• Coordinate with resource managers on status, habitat, and recovery needs for species.
• Administer the Tribe’s subsistence hunting, fishing, and trapping program.
• Issue licenses, tags, and permits to CTCLUSI Tribal members.
• Share data with other tribes and ODFW on seasons, tags, and bag limits.
• Recommend CTCLUSI guidelines to ODFW for seasons and distributions.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and participate in regional committees.
• Report subsistence data to Tribal Council and State policymakers.
• Review land management proposals for habitat protection and enhancement.
• Assist in grant applications, budgets, reporting, and implementation.
• Undertake trainings and support education/outreach.
