Job summary

The Coquille Indian Tribe in Eugene, Oregon seeks a Grant Writing and Development Manager to lead grant proposals, build foundation relationships, and coordinate with senior leadership to align funding with strategic goals. This role supports the Office of Strategic Operations and the tribe’s programs.

Reporting to the Executive Director for OSO, you will supervise grant staff, manage submission calendars, ensure compliance, and drive a robust grant management infrastructure across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, English, Communications, Creative Writing or related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience in developing staff capacity through coaching, training, and performance management.
• Minimum four years' experience writing federal, state, tribal, nonprofit and other grant applications.
• Professional certification as a CGMS or equivalent required or obtainable within 90 days of employment.
• Proven track record of successful grant writing and grant project management.

Responsibilities

• Write, compile, and submit high-quality grant proposals, applications, and letters of intent.
• Research, identify, and evaluate grant opportunities from federal, state, tribal, and private foundations.
• Coordinate with department directors and senior leadership to align funding requests with goals.
• Champion grant management infrastructure, including tracking systems and submission calendars.
• Provide guidance to program staff on grant requirements and funder expectations; monitor post-award reporting.
• Supervise and provide direction to Grant Coordinators and manage performance.
