Job summary

SGS is seeking an experienced Pipeline/Welding Inspector for a contract assignment in Ingleside, Texas, supporting subsea pipeline fabrication and offshore installation activities. The candidate should hold AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1/3.2 certification and have offshore/subsea pipe fabrication experience.

The role covers shipyard/fabrication plus loadout, pipelay vessel activities and offshore installation, with responsibilities including ITP reviews, material inspections, and NDT documentation review.

Qualifications

• Current AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1/3.2 certification.
• Experience with offshore/subsea pipe fabrication.
• Strong hands-on experience inspecting pipeline welding and fabrication.
• Familiarity with coating, dimensional inspection, hydrotesting, preservation and final documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review ITPs, specifications and applicable procedures.
• Perform material receiving inspections.
• Verify MTRs, material identification and traceability.
• Witness and review WPS/PQR activities and welder qualification testing.
• Perform fit-up inspections and welding inspections.
• Review NDT documentation and results.
• Perform dimensional inspections.
• Inspect coating and painting activities.
• Inspect riser and spool fabrication.
• Verify anode installation and hydrotesting.
• Witness preservation activities and final turnover documentation.
