Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services seeks a Subsea Cable Technical Lead to act as the on-site technical lead for submarine network operations, while remaining hands-on in maintenance, commissioning and restoration work. You will guide complex troubleshooting, provide technical coaching to hybrid technicians and ensure safety and quality through procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years experience in optical transport, telecom network ops or submarine cable systems.
• Demonstrated experience with SLTE and/or DWDM systems, OTDR and optical power testing.
• Experience providing technical direction or coaching and coordinating with NOCs, OEMs and vendors.
• Advanced optical transmission, fiber testing, loss analysis, and circuit turn-up.
• Knowledge of submarine cable station architecture incl. PFE, OGB, BMH, fronthaul, DCN.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced diagnosis, restoration and maintenance for submarine transmission and related infrastructure.
• Coordinate technical escalation with the customer NOC, regional operations and OEMs.
• Review and execute approved MOPs, maintenance plans and changes.
• Identify operational risk, confirm prerequisites, support maintenance windows and document as-built records.
• Perform and oversee complex optical testing, fault location, circuit turn-up and remediation.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance, coaching and competency support to technicians.
• Promote adherence to training matrices and approved operating procedures.
• Analyze recurring incidents and performance trends to drive improvements.
• Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions and reliability improvements.
