You will work with the Senior Editor, Subscriber Content to produce high-value analysis on major political, global, cultural and breaking-news stories for our readers.

This execution-focused role requires strong news judgment, sharp writing and the ability to turn fast-moving developments into clear, valuable commentary for a paying audience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of the US and international news agendas.
• Ability to write quickly and accurately in a digital news environment.
• Experience producing interpretive journalism beyond simple recap.
• Strong sourcing, balance and transparency.
• Familiarity with CMS publishing workflows and metadata handling.

Responsibilities

• Write rapid, high-value subscriber commentary on breaking stories with a clear thesis.
• Identify subscriber-worthy angles and develop them into sharp pieces with an authoritative voice.
• Turn around clean copy under deadline pressure with strong structure and balance.
• Implement editorial direction, revise intros, headlines and framing as required.
• Assist with packaging stories in CMS, including headlines, standfirsts and metadata.
