Job summary

Federated Insurance is seeking a Recovery Specialist to recover subrogation claims and money owed from tortfeasors through third-party liability actions. You will handle recovery for auto, material damage, property, and workers' compensation claims, evaluating opportunities, gathering information, and negotiating settlements.

Minimum requirements include a four-year business degree or equivalent, CSRP designation preferred, and 1–2 years in a general business setting with strong computer skills

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in business or equivalent experience.
• CSRP designation is preferred.
• 1–2 years of general business environment experience.
• Prior subrogation experience is a plus.
• Strong computer knowledge and ability to memorize information quickly.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and investigate subrogation opportunities.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, and others for recovery evaluation.
• Negotiate with loss parties for equitable settlements.
• Explain recovery results to policyholders in writing and verbally.
• Determine third party liability and deductible/SIR reimbursements.
• Assist in training claims personnel on subrogation.
