Job summary

Fortegra is seeking a Claim Adjuster, Subrogation to support the Subrogation Unit's recovery program, focusing on deductible and SIR collections from insured customers, tender expense recoveries, and auto subrogation. You will work with internal claims teams and external stakeholders to maximize recoveries and advance the unit's strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in insurance, collections, subrogation, or related field.
• Familiarity with deductible and SIR structures; auto subrogation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue deductible and SIR recovery opportunities by reviewing claim files, policy provisions, and billing records.
• Collaborate with primary claims adjusters to gather documentation and coordinate recovery efforts across deductible collections, tender expense recoveries, and auto subrogation files.
• Initiate and manage collections for outstanding deductible and SIR balances from insured customers, with consistent follow-up and clear documentation.
• Pursue tender expense recoveries in applicable Casualty claims and escalate as directed by the Subrogation Unit manager.
• Maintain organized records of all collection activity, correspondence, and account balances across assigned files.
• Issue written demand correspondence to insureds and communicate payment expectations and resolutions.
• Handle auto subrogation files from identification through resolution, including demand preparation and follow-up with adverse carriers.
• Demonstrate flexibility in managing a varied portfolio of collections and recovery files while meeting priorities and deadlines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor and participate in claim reviews and audits.
