Job summary

Burnham Commercial in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Submerged Arc Welder/Automatic Welder to join our team. This is a full-time, union-hourly position with hours Mon-Fri 6 AM - 2:30 PM; Saturdays as needed.

Under general supervision this role welds steel plate(s) using the submerged arc automatic welding machine, reads blueprints, and prepares joints for x-ray testing. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), weekly pay, holidays, vacation, and tuition

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or related experience
• Must be able to Submerged Arc Weld
• Must pass ASME 1G/2G tests for SAW
• Ability to read blueprints/diagrams
• Experience with measuring tools

Responsibilities

• Operates automatic welding machine at required speed and heat
• Air arc joints as required
• Produces welds meeting ASME and x-ray requirements
• Welds seams on high and low pressure vessels
• Interprets welding symbols on blueprints
• Removes slag with hammer or wire brush
• Stamps welds with certification stamp
• Performs related work as directed
